Harley Davidson (HPD) is looking for a buyer for its CiderHouse brand, the company said Wednesday.
Harley Davidson Ciderhouses began selling in Europe in 2001, but the company announced earlier this year that it was leaving Europe and plans to sell in the U.S. The company said it plans to close its Cidershop in the Columbus, Ohio, area by the end of the year.HPD plans to move its Cancershop into a new space on the other side of Columbus from its Columbus, OH, headquarters, Harley Davidson said in a statement.HDP is an international food and beverage company that sells its brands in more than 50 countries.
The Cidershops in Europe are owned by the Ural-based Cidershare group, which includes Harley Davidson and Bodega.
The Cidershares Cider House in Austria, Germany, Ireland and the United Kingdom are owned jointly by Harley Davidson, which also owns the Ciders House brand in Austria and the Cancershares brand in Germany.HHD was founded in 1926 and owns more than 200 craft brands, including The Harley Davidson of New York and the Harley Davidson Co. in Europe.
